The heart of the Christmas market beats on the historic market square

Here, the beautiful half-timbered facades and the smell of fresh gingerbread and mulled wine create a very special pre-Christmas atmosphere. Festively decorated stalls on the An der Lilie square also invite you to stroll around.
At the “Zum Rentier” post office on the An der Lilie square, children can post their wish lists until 12 December, which are sent directly to the oldest Christmas post office in Himmelsthür.
The more than 30 churches in Hildesheim characterize the cityscape and tell of the city’s rich history. In the run-up to Christmas, the churches are a place of inner peace accompanied by contemplative Advent and Christmas music.
