The center of the Magdalenengarten Hildesheim is a rosarium with 1,800 roses, which was renewed in 2004 according to old plans from the baroque period. Worth seeing are the vineyard, the old trees on the Stadtwall and the impressive view of the UNESCO World Heritage Church of St. Michaelis, which celebrated its 1,000th anniversary in 2010. Every year at the time of the rose blossom (mid-June) the popular Magdalenenfest takes place and in the ambience of the old baroque garden visitors can experience a leisure and garden fair in combination with cultural events.
