Unique and unchanged for over 300 years: The Royal Gardens in Herrenhausen. The Royal Gardens are practically a “must” for every visitor to Hannover. The Great Garden, famous world-wide as a jewel of the baroque era, was laid out in the years 1666-1714. Niki de Saint Phalle, the famous French artist, transformed the grotto in the Royal Gardens in unique work of art for the 21st century. The nearby Berggarden, once created to be the palace kitchen garden, is today amongst other things the home of the biggest collections of orchids in the world.
A new Highlight is the rebuilt Herrenhausen Palace. In the Museum Herrenhausen you will learn more about the history of the gardens and its former residencies.
