Christmas magic with half-timbered flair
When the smell of roasted almonds, crêpes and mulled wine fills the air over the festively illuminated old town of Celle at the end of November, the time has finally come again: the Celle Christmas market opens its doors!
Taking a leisurely stroll through the idyllic Christmas market and looking for small Christmas presents or new Christmas tree baubles not only fuels the anticipation of the festive season, but also lets visitors shift down a gear. With a mulled wine in hand, you can immerse yourself in the warm play of lights on the historic half-timbered façades in the alleyways and squares of the old town and enjoy the shining eyes of children – this is how people in Celle pause to celebrate the beautiful winter season.
As if that wasn’t enough, festive events and concerts provide even more atmospheric Advent highlights. Eagerly awaited by young and old alike, the big parade of lights takes place again this year. Magical Christmas light figures will enchant the entire city center on the first weekend of Advent. The Advent music events in the town church of St. Marien are also very popular. One of the special winter highlights is the Baroque Christmas at Celle Castle on the edge of the old town. Dressed in festive Baroque garb, a tour guide takes visitors on an atmospheric Christmas stroll through the magnificent walls.
Look forward to a colorful program with carousel rides, live music and a visit from Santa Claus himself.
Come by and experience an unforgettable Christmas season in Celle!
