‘Right in the middle’ is how one might place it after glancing at a map of Germany. That’s where Einbeck is, idyllically nestled in the gently rolling hills between the Weser Uplands, the Harz and the Solling. Spanning some 231 square kilometres, Einbeck is the biggest city in southern Lower Saxony by area. There’s a lot to discover, experience and marvel at in this former Hanseatic city! It features many splendidly ornamented, historical half-timbered houses, delicious Einbeck beer, and the PS.SPEICHER and its depots, home to Europe’s biggest collection of vintage vehicles with more than 2,500 exhibits. And with the Einbecker Blaudruck (Blue Dye Printing) it even boasts some UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in its historical centre.
A holiday in Einbeck?! Absolutely worth it!
Einbeck’s gone blue! In Einbeck, 2022 is all about the traditional craft of Blaudruck or indigo printing on fabric. This year’s calendar will be full of different events and activities to familiarise people with this craft, in keeping with the principle: ‘Explain, experience, remember’.
PS.Speicher
1,200 classic motorcycles, 630 cars of all sizes, 200 lorries and buses, a collection of electric vehicles and another of Lanz Bulldog tractors: virtually the entire spectrum of vehicles can be viewed here in Einbeck at the PS.SPEICHER and its depots.
