Efter m\u00e5nga ombyggnader och en brand byggdes det om helt mellan 1887 och 1906 i en historicistisk stil. Idag inneh\u00e5ller slottet den medeltida delen av Herzog Anton Ulrich-museet. Delar av Guelph-skatten och v\u00e4rdefulla liturgiska kl\u00e4der visas i slottets Knappensaal.
