No? For over three centuries, Wolfenb\u00fcttel was the residence of the Dukes of Welf. Largely spared by the wars of history, the old town\u2014with its castle, the world-famous Duke August Library, the Lessing House, and the first Protestant church built in the area\u2014still looks much as it did in the days of the court.
