Over 1500 half-timbered houses, the historic town hall with its World Heritage Site visitor centre, and a lively caf\u00e9 and restaurant scene are a big pull for visitors. With the Harz mountains right on the doorstep, there\u2019s also plenty on offer for nature lovers and hikers.
