Architecture lovers describe the Old Town as the jewel of the Weser renaissance, yet most of the stony monuments tell of the city’s history, e.g. the Pied Piper’s house of 1602 with the inscription of the children’s exodus. In 1284, 130 children are said to have mysteriously vanished here. This fuelled the legend of the Pied Piper, which lives on today.
