Organic ice cream at the „Cool and Creamy“, a trip with a pedalo in the shape of a swan or a cocktail on the „Cool Summer Island“ floating lounge: In summer Autostadt becomes a paradise for the whole family to take a break. In August visitors throng to see the water shows accompanied by music, lasers and fireworks. This spectacle has already been awarded the title of the World‘s Best Show.
The highlight of the events staged at the Autostadt in winter is the Ice Revue, which is based on a different theme every year. During the day visitors can even skate on the frozen lagoon themselves and then take a stroll around the winter market. The light show featuring blazing fire baskets, flaming torches and the illuminated stacks of the power station make this a truly thrilling experience.
One of the Autostadt‘s most popular attractions is the ZeitHaus. The car museum with the world‘s highest visitor numbers not only displays vintage vehicles from Volkswagen‘s past but milestones for over 50 different car manufacturers. All exhibits have one thing in common: they have pushed forward and influenced development of the automobile, whether in terms of
technology, design or concept.
„Nine restaurants – one mission – all natural“: this is the motto of the nine Autostadt restaurants operated by Mövenpick. The exhibition „LEVEL GREEN – The Concept of Sustainability“ is devoted to the three dimensions of sustainability: ecology, economy and society. 26 exhibits on approximately 1.000 m² help visitors understand for example the causes and consequences of climate change, learn about mobility in tomorrow‘s world or how they can consciously limit their personal consumption of the earth‘s resources.
The Car Towers encased in glass have become the emblem of the Autostadt. The two spectacular high-rise warehouses each offer space for 400 brandnew vehicles. The Car Tower Ascent attraction lets visitors ride up inside the 48-metre towers and enjoy a panoramic view over the entire region.
